January 2012
Welcome to the Virginia Chapter of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine (VA-AAEM). We formed this chapter in 2011 and have made great strides in our brief history. First, we established a strong initial Board of Directors. Second, we established our first member benefit when we affiliated with the Western Journal of Emergency Mediicne. Third, as of January 2012 we had over 80 members, which is a large amount for such a new state chapter. Finally, we are having a joint social gathering with the Uniformed Services Chapter of AAEM at the 2012 Scientific Assembly.
In the near future we plan to survey our membership to find out what issues are important to you and what you would like us to focus our efforts on. If you have ideas you'd like to send to me, please contact me at jschofer@gmail.com.
